First i titled “Are we dumber than our ancestors?” but i myself got offended by that, hence here is new title like Monsters Vs Aliens.
The way we advancing our innovation and technology are slowed down comparatively our grand father days. But definitely we are advancing a lot in equality and humanity front, which was lacked a lot in olden days. The innovation is slowed down because we are too fear to take risks, afraid of failures, lot of scrutiny, lack of competition, settle with less and too much concern about privacy, human right violation, animal cruelty etc.
The 20th century is golden era of innovation and technology advancement mainly because of Great Britain’s eager to expand their kingdom, German’s aggressiveness and finally cold war between U.S.A and U.S.S.R. At the end of cold war, we did rest our innovative mind and concentrated on peace and poverty abolishment.
But we should not settle with a fake peace and show-off poverty abolishment stance. We need a true peace and real way of world leaders to come together to try to abolish poverty and increase humanity etc. Research and innovation and technology is only one of unify our world and uplift humanity to next level, but we are lacking on that is main reason of concern. Last 20 years, major advancement we did was Computers, Information Technology, that’s it, we haven’t did anything other than Information Technology. All major expansion happened based on converting all process and machinery to information technology awareness products. Medical, Medicine, Space, Mechanical, Civil, Architecture, Agriculture and Physics, Healthcare we were not advanced but compromised with converting some of them into information technology. The same cancer finding scanner is used with high resolution but cure for cancer is not yet invented.
We are relying more on Western Europe, U.S.A and Japan to spend their resource and money for research and innovation and all others are just settled with service oriented industry. So research and innovation was monopolized and brain drained in those countries because people in advanced country try to settle with already existed technology, they may not want to advance now. For example, a 25 years old Japan youngster may spend lot of time to drive sports car rather than spending time with researching new battery turbo car engine. The point is, we all should be concentrate on research and innovation and make this world a better place to live.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientific community going to achieve a remarkable event on this Wednesday. India going to send an unmanned spacecraft (lunar exploration) Chandrayaan-I mission to moon. Indian flag will be placed in Moon, only US, Russia, and Japan flags were placed so far in moon. This spacecraft going to carry six Indian instruments and 6 other countries (including 2 NASA's) instruments.
We know that it is very hard to achieve something in state owned organization like ISRO. It is time to venerate our ISRO engineers.
I was wondering why we humans use two legs and all other animals use four legs to walk. I thought that I'm crazy to think about this kind of unwanted thoughts, but just before I googled it and found that University of Arizona did expensive research about this. As per research, we started walking in two legs about some millions years ago, and this is the first revolution of human kind. Our brain got much stronger because of this change. Because if we continue walking in four legs, we spend more energy for walking and lot of energy consumed by just for walking activity. Our brain itself consumes 20% of energy and if we stand up and start walk blood circulation to brain increases and more oxygen to brain hence we can generate more ideas. So after started walking in two legs,we advanced our innovation and science discoveries quite a lot. Just imagine if we keep on walking four legs and we spend lot of energy for walking, our blood circulation to brain decreases, and we can not advance like this. So if you want to generate more ideas, just walk and walk and walk, not four legs though.
While browsing some science articles for last 1 hour or so, I found that there is increase demand of ADHD prescription in US year over year. This got me think,that we are over hyped with kids normal behaviour as ADHD. I know in adults, somebody would get blame if he or she finished their task well before expected time and out perform others in all way, which is, tolerable and it is pure non-sense of annoyed co-workers who unable to cope with fast paced work environment. But when coming to kids part is not like that, we have to be very careful before consulting doctor. Nowadays kids are out smart than our generation, this is because of science and technology advancement. Each one has to carefully determine their kid's behaviour and make judgement based on there best knowledge after they get more complaints from school. Because this ADHD drugs are very addictive and cause some brain damage to kids. All of us working hard and making money for our kids future hence we can't jeopardize there future by our own hands.
